Get Involved

The GTFF is a member-run union, meaning participation is key. There are many levels of participation, ranging from just signing the blue card to attending meetings to sending an email voicing concern to serving on committees to getting elected for state and national conventions to running for steward or officer.

Are you only a fair-share member of the union? If so, fill out a blue card and turn it into the GTFF office. Cards are available from your department steward, at the GTFF office, or online here.

Discussion   discussion@gtff.net

Keep up with  GTFF news, as well as updates on what other grad unions and the labor movement as a whole is doing. During the poitical season, there’s an increase in traffic with messages about local, state, and national campaigns – but only from people inside the union. Non-members can not post to the list (meaning, there’s no spam).   Sign up for the list here.

steward

Stewards represent their work sites and vote in the Executive Council. Any department or non-departmental work site that has union members will elect its own steward(s). Stewards are voted by regular members in their respective worksites. Steward nominations are accepted toward the end of Winter Term and at the Spring General Membership Meeting. However, if your work site does not have a steward, nominations will be accepted until filled. If you are willing to fill a vacant steward position for your department, please contact GTFF organizer Dave Cecil for more information.
